WORKSHOPS
College Application & Essay Summer Workshop
This workshop is fifteen hours, three hours/day for five days, specifically designed that way for best results. Our experience indicates that student's capacity to work effectively is about three hours and the overnight rest between each session allows them to reflect, energize, edit, and come more prepared for each session. Your student will be equipped to finish the week with a solid draft of their main essay for the Common App or Coalition App.. Most students will also make progress on supplemental essays and their activity lists. All students will finish the week understanding all the components of the college application and how to complete each section successfully, such as writing effective activity lists, resumes, why us and diversity supplemental essays, and the additional/optional essay section. They will be armed with the tools to complete their application confidently. This workshop is offered multiple times throughout the summer at Liddane Tutoring and Learning Services.

Questionnaires to both the student and parents to begin process of thinking about best fit factors financially, socially and academically.
You get these back to me along with grade reports for all years of HS and any other academic information I need.
We then all get together to go over the questionnaires. This meeting takes about an hour.
I do the research and put together a list of schools with all data points, reviews, notes on why I think the school might be a good match, and whether or not they are reach, right in a student’s wheelhouse, or safety schools. I also discuss merit opportunities.
I put this list into a program called Counselmore, which is a great resource for tracking research and building your list. Each student/family will have on-going access to Counselmore to use independently.
We review how to use additional resources and what questions to ask when you are doing your research.
